What are the health risks?
Cold shock on entry to cold water can cause problems. We ask you not to use the facilities if you have cardio-respiratory (heart and breathing) or metabolic (diabetes) conditions. Further more if you are pregnant we advise against use of cold water and heat therapies such as sauna and cold water immersion/ice baths.

Hypothermia is possible as a result of cold water immersion. We therefore advise you spend a cautious amount of time immersed in cold water.

If you begin to feel unwell or it becomes painful please get out.

How do I access Little Healing and how many people can access Little Healing at any one time?
Our side return is gated with a digital pin-pad for keyless access. You will get the pin code in your confirmation email.
The services you can purchase allow 1-4 people to access the facilities at the same time under the same booking.​

Are the facilities accessible to people with disabilities?
Regrettably the facilities are not currently accessible to disabled people. We are looking to develop access in the future. The steps are not easily managed unless ambulant.
How long are the services and what do they include?
Each bookable session is 60 minutes in total, we guide you you to think of it as 45 minutes using the equipment and 15 minutes of total changing time. If you are speedy at changing you can spend more time using the equipment. This gives you access to the sauna and ice bath (booking dependent), cold shower and changing room. We hope all visitors respect the time others have booked after them arriving and leaving on time.
Is there anywhere to sit?
Yes, there are two chairs outside the larger sauna to relax on between sauna exposures

Where is Little Healing located?
We in Northfields or Little Ealing. Number 1 New Mount Court, Julien Road, W54XA.
Is there parking?
There is residential on street parking but restrictions are in place 9-10am and 3-4pm daily. We advise walking, the bus or getting the tube. Northfields tube is roughly 500m away.
What should I bring?
Warm clothes, a towel, swimwear, flip flops and drinking water
How hot are the saunas?
The saunas will range from 80 degrees celcius to 110 degrees celcius depending upon several factors including how often water is gently poured on the sauna stones. You can adjust the temperature in the larger suana using the internal display but please re-set to 95 when you leave.

If the sauna is too hot, please either adjust the temperature, manage the temperature by openeing the door or get out.
How many people can use the sauna at the same time?
2 people can fit comfortably in the smaller sauna and 4 people in the larger sauna.
Can I pour water on the sauna stones?
The quick answer is yes! However we ask you to pour with care, and pour gently so that water can evaporate before it runs too far down into the heater below.

The water is infused with a relaxing oil which we want you to enjoy using on the stones in order to boost the intensity of the heat and create a relaxing aroma.
​
There is also a sauna soap stone in the smaller sauna which, when filled will spurt water on to the surrounding stones producing fragrance and a relaxing ambiance.

What should I wear in the ice-bath?
Please wear clothes. No nakedness! Swimwear is ideal.

Do NOT dunk your head under the water and no footwear permitted in the ice bath.
How long should I spend in the ice bath?
We recommend you allow for a little uncomfortableness to build before getting out but at the same time start short and build up time over several visits. We recommend no longer than 5 minutes per exposure before getting out.

There is absolutely no need to spend 5 minutes in the cold water. Start small, 30 seconds to 1 minutes is absolutely fine.
​
You less cold adapted you are the more benefit you'll get from shorter exposure.

Should I shower before getting in?
We recommend rinsing off under the cold shower before getting in the sauna to maintain hygiene standards. Alternatively shower sat home or work before arriving.

How cold is the ice bath?
The water is between 9-10 degrees celcius. It is maintained at this temperature constantly.
How many people can use the ice bath at the same time?
1 person at a time. If you are visiting via a 2 person booking, have a think about how you might alternative between the heat of the sauna and cold water and enjoy a good natter in the sauna at the same time.
How do I get in the ice bath?
Carefully. There are wooden steps and the rim of the bath can easily take your bodyweight when leaning on it and stepping inside.

There is a blue plastic bench submerged and suspended within the ice bath on the internal wall. Use this as a step when getting in and out.

Do not jump in! Don't rush!

Is the water in the ice bath treated?
Yes, it is kept clean using Bromine tablets in a float dispenser that bobs along with you in the water
How should I leave the ice bath and sauna?
Please put the lid of the ice bath back on top to keep the world out and the water clean.

As long as the glass door on the sauna is carefully closed and all sauna tools are on the bench inside, you are all good!

Please leave the saunas on and hot. The smaller sauna may not have been on when you arrived so in this case leave it off.
Is there a toilet?
No, sorry there isn't currently a toilet.
